took out my spare..

took out my spare the other day and went for a drive, the spare locking device on the end of the pulley that holds the spare in basically is just hanging up there and hits the sides and makes a bunch of noises. Any easy way i can fix this, im sure i tightened the pully all the way.

LOL.

Thanks everyone for the responses, majority of you guys said you just tightened it all the way and no noise occurred, so I bet i didn't tighten it all the way

If that doesnt work it will be removed.. but while we are on this spare tire subject.. does anyone know the biggest tire size i can fit. I know when i looked up at the spare it didn't look like it had a bunch of room but it did have some. I got 285's so i know those wouldn't fit but it would be niceee

I don't think 285's would fit.

Be sure that when you are cranking it all the way up, to put some weight on it, cuz then the wire will get all jammed and if you ever want to take it down, it'll be stuck...
