Ford Escape 17" wheels on Ranger 4x4 ?
Hello, I am new to this forum and need some advice on wheels, I want to know if I can swap the 17" stock chrome wheels & tires from my 2008 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 onto my 2009 Ranger XLT 4x4 which has the stock 15" with chrome skins, Will I have any clearance issues on either vehicle ? Will the Escape handle better with the 15's instead of the 17's ?

Roddy,
After I posted this question here, I saw a specific forum on tires & wheels, well once the weather breaks a little here I am going to try the swap, i will check the to see if there is a differance in the offset of the two, my wife has a hard time getting in the Escape because it sits pretty high and she doesn't like nerf or running boards either.

same bolt pattern yes but backspacing is FWD so prob be some clearness issues with the caliper/hub...
if its to high sell it and get a car or tell her to learn how to get into it with step bars..
or install these : http://www.autotrucktoys.com/escape/...P1737C358.aspx
personally no need to swap the wheels wheel size does not mean how high it sits thats tire size...
**** no need to post 2 threads one is plenty ****

Is the Escape 4 wheel drive or All Wheel Drive?
If it's 4wd like a Ranger, then I don't see why the backspacing would be an issue, but if it is AWD it will definetly have a more front wheel drive oriented backspace causing fit issues with the calipers and or hubs.
Trade that Escape in for a TaurusX/Freestyle or Flex instead. My sister and her husband just bought a Flex and it is freakin sweeeeet.
