over at the "other" ranger site (trs) i'm in a sort of heated discussion.
the ranger gt was introduced in 1986 right? it had to be because thats the year i graduated and my friend got one for a present. however, some of the "kids" say that i don't know what i'm talking about and the gt was from 1988 to 1989 only. but i know it was produced from 1986-1989.


who is right, myself (one who saw them new in '86,(was 18) or a kid who was a fetus in 1986?

if i'm wrong, then there are a plethora of ford ranger search engines that are wrong as well!

 

1986-1989 (1989 was the first year without the GT I think) I an not 100% sure of the last day of production, but I beleave it 88 was the last year it was built.

 

-the first offered GT was in '87. it was basically a ranger stx 2wd w/o grd efx. but all the chassis, int., etc. stuff on it. the grd efx pkg was added in '88 and again in '89. it was discontinued in '90. there are murmurs of maybe a few '90s being built, but it would have had to been early in the run, late in '89 after the '90 production started. these are REALLY rare...as much as the '87s are.....
