ok I got these lights, dad has always used them as back up lights, and they also fit the tractor too.,.... there about 4 maybe 5 inches in diameter, a full rubber housing and a 2 piece bracket system. the bulbs, are like the old style head light bulb, all one piece, made out of glass, and about $5-$7 at the store each, u can get the whole thing, rubber socket, mount and bulb for $15 at auto zone.

my question is this, can i get like flood lights for it? I think mine are spot lights, or would that be like, not much light? The are 55 watt, and when aimed correctly, I could drive with them, but as far as like, throwing the light out past the edge of my head lights, they dont quite have enuff oomph. so, thats my Q.

 

Ive got two of those lights! I had them mounted on my old grill before it shattered in the cold northern minnesota 60 below from shutting my hood.... but im pretty sure that they are like an h4 bulb. You can take the glass out of the rubber surround and from there it depends on what brand they are. Some have replacable bulbs and some are just throw aways. I do know that you can get an amber lens/bulb for them and maybe that would work better as a flood light...but either way they are never gonna be driving lights

 

well i can drive with them...

as far as bulbs, well its like the old style (1980's) type bulb. not the new kind where its just a housing and theres a seperate piece that makes the light. this is all one piece., two wires attach to the back of it one supplies juice - the other supplies a ground... and they attach to the bulb via screws... the actual glass part (the bulb) pops into the rubber housing.

Yeah check tractor supply or similar where you are.
we just got one not to long ago. lot of ideas came from that place.

 

I went up to TSC and they only had 6v ones. Correct me but our system is 12v and it would immediately blow?
I did not see a 12v version there.

 

yeah pretty sure the 6v would be worthless. and yup we have a 12v dc system
