Ok the nail is sticking threw the side of the tread on my tire. I've never had a flat tire like this before . If they plug it, what will happen when my tread wears down? Im hoping they can even plugg it.

 

I have three nails in my tires and oi pull them out but never got a flat from it...

 

I had one go into the tread like that. Pulled it out , no flat, no problem. That looks like it could be long enough to puncture the tire

 

If they plug it you shouldn't have any problem

 

I would take it to a tire shop and get it patched (from the inside of the tire) instead of plugging it that way you don't have to worry about the plug when the tire wears down.

im gonna take it to a small local shop tomorow, i may recommend a patch

gas station plugs are not the correct way to do it. go and make sure that the use a proper two step process where they have to take the tire off the rim. they will use a plug(not the gas station type) and a patch

 

i work at a tire place and what we would do there is first plug it...then theres this cement glue type thing u put over it then it dries up then goes the patch...then its this black substance that dries up then ur good to go!

 

I had a nail in the same place a couple weeks ago. They just took the tire off plug and threw a patch on it ended up only costing me 17 bucks. but now the tire is unbalanced like crazy and its driving me nuts but i cant afford the get it fixed so i just wait till next month when i get new tires

 

The nail isn't close enough to the shoulder to make much of a difference. A one peice plug patch works best in these situations. The plug is inserted from inside the tire, and has a 2" patch attached to it. You also should have the newly repaired tire rebalanced...
