ok, feeling a little indecisive

I'm slightly bored right now, contemplating either running my 3.5 mile course or loading up the gear and camera and taking off to go road cruising/night hiking for snakes and possible light 4x4ing.

Which brings me to the following. I've been doing some thinking. I'm single right now, so any spare money I have I get to use for myself. I've been hell-bent on getting the RCD kit. But I've also been pondering a few other smaller mods, explorer roof console, EATC, electric fan, headers, exhaust, traction bars, one-touch passenger window, blinker mod, etc. I also made a recent post about narrow tires.

So here's my thoughts, hopefully in a lined up fashion. After my paycheck tomorrow and paying the end of this months/beginning of next months bills I will see another paycheck. This paycheck will allow me to finally purchase the RCD kit. In my living room I have DeviousFred's 3in PA body lift with shift extender. I really don't want to put the BL on. With the rough terrain here I'd be bound to eventually crack one of the pucks. But in the same token I want to put the 33x12.50x15 BFG ATs on stock Alcoas on my truck. Patience is killing me. I've also been thinking about purchasing 33x10.50x15 BFG muds as replacements to my current 31 BFG ATs (they have 36,500 on em......gasp, yes I finally killed the 36k/36mo warranty). Now, a recent post on narrow tires was the result of talking to a 4x4ing friend. He put another option into my head: long travel. Dixon Bros offers it for my year and I still get the coilovers I want, which was part of my reasoning for the RCD. So my mind is all jumbled up right now on options of choices.

I could put the BL on which will let me get the 33s with 7k on them under my truck. That'll then get the slowly wearing out 31s off my truck, freeing up my alcoas for back-up purposes (I'd either put more 33 bfg ats on or a set of 33 bfg muds). Or, do I be patient, wait 2-3 more paychecks, get the RCD, get a few other small mods listed above, take some time off an get the truck the way I want it. OR, do I think/look more into the LT kit. It doesn't lift me, which will help in not killing my mileage so much vs the RCD + 33s. Bah, this post is all over the place. I'm just thinking too much on the matter.

edit: typos

Where's your research on body lift pucks breaking? I'm interested to hear. i think i've heard one person break a body puck. "Bound to break" is a pretty tough statement, judging by all the people on this site with body lifts "bound to break"

I would say look more into the DBR kit. "The RPS" truck used that kit and they offroad it just like any other 4x4. Ask Jason (rngprerunner) about it, too. He has helped me out a couple times, and is pretty generous with pictures.

AND were I you, I would do some of the small mods on the side while saving money. I wish I had done the EATC and OHC mods... I still can, but I running out of time before I leave for basic (still don't know when that is).

That's my 2 cents.

If I remember right Sean (DesertSpive) over on ORR has the DBR kit on his truck now. He use to have the RCD kit.

Aaron....it's either 2400 for the RCD here locally, or 3k for the LT kit. RCD I'd still have to drop down to the 11.25 rotors plus I'd still have to save up for the deaver leaf packs. Of course if I go with the LT kit I'd need to get front glass and apparently the fox c/o shocks are an additional $1170. Lift wise the LT kit really isn't going to lift me. I think Sean said it was maybe 1inch of lift over stock. He ran the truck out at MOAB and handled everything quite well. And of course the thread with his pics exists, but the pics are red x's.

I remember that thread, just didn't look at the pics, cause I'm 56k and rarely do. I really like the idea of a LT kit but, personally, I definitely like a clean SAS.

To the IFS, i don't like to make **** shine. But offroading isn't my most important goal in life so i guess a superlift/body lift will suit me okay.

Ultimately, that'll pretty much be the only goal I actually accomplish, sadly.
