need an opinion on a scheme i want to do on my hood
so i know a guy who does GREAT work with vinyl. for really cheap.
i want to do something for my hood. along the lines of this
(used beards truck as an example)

i can get the guy to make me a vinyl in flat black that would go on the hood, and he'll apply it. he did a roof vinyl for my friends turboed integra earlier this week, and it looks perfect.
or i was thinking of getting a hood vinyl made like this

because he'd do it for dirt cheap.
so what im thinking, is either one like beards, but leave the silver paint in the middle, or do the smaller part like the second pic in black.
idk what to do. i think doing the dome of the hood would match the grille nicely...
and heres a recent shot of the truck, if anybody can do a photochop for me..

yeah of course, but for how cheap this guy is, he does great work, when all is said and done, nobody will be able to tell its not paint haha
i'd do paint on the hood, but i dont trust my painting skills enough to do something like that. i can paint and all, but i mess up a lot, and im just too damn lazy to be doing all that sanding and painting lol
and for the smaller hood vinyl, i bet it would cost me less then 10 bucks. and maybe 20-30 for the bigger one. so its well worth it IMO

I would do it like your idea with keeping that "arrow head" silver, and the rest the black.
You could do a **** load of masking and bed line it to match your grill even better! But I bet it would make the hood heavy as all hell.

yeah without a doubt. the hoods on the 04+ trucks already weight a TON. i hate it when i feel how heavy mine is, then i lift the hood on my buddies 98. his feels like paper.

they make VIS carbon fiber hoods for our trucks only weighs 35lbs I think...? cost a lil over $500
That's kinda what I plan to do with mine if I ever get around to it.

I keep going back and forth between a vinyl and bedliner. Vinyl is reversible. And less messy. And, bedliner is exactly the opposite. Lol
Idk! I think I'll do the vinyl and see how I like it. Bedliner is my backup plan. Lol
