Headlight bulbs

Im thinking about getting some brighter headlight bulbs.....ones that are more of a white or blue tint. I came across this on ebay......what do you think? And what is the Rangers stock headlight wattage? I've read that its best not to get higher wattage bulbs than the factory, and that it can burn the wiring?

lol, I haven't had factory lights since a few months after I bought my last truck(three years ago). I've always had silverstars. They seem to "reach" as far as the silverstars but have a blue-ish tint on the street.

I'm tellin you straight up that that pic is exactly what the guy said above me....B.S. I have these in my truck now...all they do is make your headlights have a blue tint...they FOR SURE are not brighter...save yourself the pain and do it big...get an HID kit orr j/leave them alone....b/c i do regret buying these headlights....HID's are soon to be purchased...save yourself the time and money...

Silverstars will do the job, without paying for shipping. Those are the best headlights I've ever seen, and since finding them I put them in every vehicle I can!!!

all vehicles built nowadays have halogen bulbs. in fact, it's hard to find the old style "incandescent" type from the pre-'80's.

what kind of bulbs are the silverstars? Im just thinking that a headlight that is whiter than the stock ones would light up the road better.

Silverstars are brighter than stck headlight. I have had them for over a year now and like them lot better. You can tell a difference.

Then silverstars are what you're looking for. Those ones you posted light up everything a sky blue.

Silverstar 9007's for the headlights, and 9005's for the fog lights.........you won't be disappointed and they aren't rice looking. Best of all, the police won't pull you over for having those wanna be HID lights or "blue" bulbs.

I've been running Silverstar's for over 3 years now and I'm still on the original headlight bulbs....the fogs are a different story, they go out every 6-7 months. There's the "actual" Silverstar size bulbs that fit better and have a water tight seal, but 9005's are most commonly found.

If you want a whiter and brighter light than stock and you don't want to go with H.I.D.s, then Silverstars would definately be your best bet. I had a few problems with mine though. The headlights seemed to go out a lot and I ended up buying like three new replacements before switching to H.I.D.s. The fogs lasted longer, but still, I had to replace those as well, and at about $30 or so for the bulbs, it digs into the wallet. O

9145's(45w) are the direct replacement bulb(at least for the 01-03's), the 9005 is a high beam(65w) lamp. To my understanding, it takes a lil quirking to get them to fit too.

Yeah but you could only have them on whenever you'd be able to normally use high beams. Useless in inclement weather! You ever turn on your high beams(65w) during heavy snow, rain, or fog? It's worse than using your regular headlights(55w)! Regular replacement bulbs(45w) are optimal for use in those lamps b/c of the positioning.

They're fog lights! You want driving/long range lights, then invest in a pair. I dunno, I just have a different mentality about it I guess.

I ran those "blue" headlights and they don't give you distance at all. Go for the Silverstars!
