60K Maintnence
I know what the manual says. Change oil, tranny fluid... btw should I DROP the pan CLEAN the magnet replace the filter then have the tranny flushed? how bought my Diff fluids?
Also.... given my plugs have been in for 61,000 should I have someone else change them since getting them out is gonna be a royal PITA?

Diff fluid does need to be changed, every so many miles cause oil does loose its lubricating ability over time, also clean fluid wont have any debris it it that can damage ring and pinions or L/S

Preventative Maintenance actually does work, If we used that logic we would never change the oil til the motor locks on us. Sure you would need a new motor about every 25,000 miles but hey you would have a new motor which is a hell of alot better than 40 bucks every 3000 miles...

But why f with the diff if there isnt any problems with it? It should be good for 100,000 miles with no issues. Maybe its just me but I havent heard fo people changing their diff fluid at 60k unless they were putting on a new cover or something.

Diff. fluid hmm.... better safe than sorry, it takes a whole wopping 10 minutes to check and 24 for the curing of the gasket. So that I'd say yes
Tranny fluid .... Do you have noises or issues with it? leave it til 100k if its good. Once you f' with it you are going to have to keep doing it.... Auto or manual
dropping the pan to clean the magnet is a waste of time and energy you gain nothing ... It's kinda like all those adds in a J.C. Whitney catalog that say adds mpg's - when you put them all on, you'd actually make gas... waste....
Don't quote me on the year but around 98 + Plugs are good for 100k ... mine are at 140 and still there.... no issues.... Not changing until the body lift is on.
Oil changes are recommended ...blah blah blah blah...... If you run synthetic with a good filter you can do 5 - 7k miles.... running std oil you can run 3-5k or atleast thats what your ford manual says... And even gives you some blurbs about highway vs city driving recommendations....
And just fyi to BTM, the wife ran 180k in 3 years in her (95-96 ish ?) Splash and only had 2 oil changes... Couldn't kill that beast.... It's still running the roads in S. Fl. somewhere....
