I want to get a new grille for my truck, I was looking at the 01 style

I hate mine and was wondering if any of you guys know of any sites that sell grilles for the rangers? Or any sites that sell them for cheaper than a junkyard would charge me? I went to my local one and they said it would cost about 140 bucks. I know I would have to paint it too so that is my next question.. My truck is a weird color green I think its called dark highland green Would an auto store sell this color by the spray paint can? I'll check VIP tomorrow and see but heres a pic of the front of my truck and my ugly grille

also I can't just stick the 01 black insert in there can I? in place of that chrome piece of crap? or is that possible I looked at the grille and it doesnt seem like it is?

 

How about painting the one you have and see if you like it.

 

If you go with that grill your gonna need the part that goes around it also

oh woops didnt even notice that.. do they make that style but with the bar on top of it?

 

you will not need that bar at the top you have an 02 that is an 01-03 grille when you buy it it will also come with the trim pieces right under your head lights.

has the little top part but can I restick on the ford emblam on the new grill? or does that not come off the old one..

Not many options with what you have


Only way to get the mesh is to swap to a 04-05 one
Then you can have mesh with chrome or mesh with paint to match

 

dude can you pm me how you did it? My trucks like the same color as yours too.. that truck looks so much better. I hate those damn chrome grilles..

My 2003 truck was black not green the sun makes it look like it's green

 

wow that really does look like green haa never would of guessed it was black, still the same idea though.

 

On 1 2 and 3 you cant pop out the grille part However you can not pop in the mesh grill from Number 4 it WILL NOT fit.

once you swap it over then you can add some bling with the Taurus emblem

ha, it is possible to remount the ford emblem from my stock grille to the new grille correct? just like pop it off and glue it with some crazy glue? how do those emblems stick on anyways..

 

Ya that one on ebay is the one you need your emblem will swap right on to it

There are 2 nuts that go on the back of it

2 bolts coming off the back of the emblem kinda molded into it.

 

oh there bolted on? k sweet should be an easy swap and the grilles held on by these clips right? and a few bolts ?
I could get that green spray paint at VIP or somthing like that right? auto zone etc...

 

Don't know about spray paint autozone probably not gonna have exactly waht you need.

Duplicolor makes factory match colors though. Just look to see what the color code is and match it with the book by all the spray paint. You will wanna spray some clear coat on it.

easiest way is to remove the whole grille shell. take off the 6 5.5mm bolts at the top, and use a screwdriver to pry loose the 6 metal clips that hold it in at the bottom

 

I just went outside in the dark and felt for the bolts I see what you mean with the emblem easy swap..
oh yeah they make spray paint too yeah ill just order some up off duplicolor which was where I got my touch up paint althought my touchup paint didnt really match well it was a little off. which is why im afraid of getting a new grille and repainting it...

althought i went to VIP today and they had duplicolor paint right on the shelves i think im just gonna bring my grille in there tomorrow and ask the guy to match it up for me..I believe its the same stuff anyhow so I think im set there.
