New Ranger? Or wait for the replacment in 2011?

Hey guys
So im graduating from high school this june and my grandma wants to buy me a new truck, or pay for my tuition up to 20k total. so i was wondering do you guys think i should take the cash for college, let her get me a '09 Ranger, '10 ranger, or wait for the replacement to the Ranger in 2011?

im surprised you got an option. personally take a majority of the money for school which 'should' help you in the future get all the new rangers you want

That's a touch choice. School would be smart, if you're planning to go to school. If you're not, like me, then I'd take up the deal on the truck. Reliable transportation FTW.

Yeah..... x2

Put most of that money toward school and do a few upgrades to your existing truck. I think school is way more important than having a new truck. I know I know..... you just graduated and dont even want to think about more school, but if i had the chance to do it all over, I would have loved to have the education i have now back when i was a kid. Man..... so many more options!!!!!

Or, get the new truck, party your *** off, and try not to get into too much trouble. Youre only young once. And watch out for Mr. DUI, you never know when he'll strike.

Loans FTL. Why don't you wait til you find out of you get the scholarship? If you do, then take advantage of being able to get a new truck, and if you don't, then take the generosity of the $20k for school she's offering.

Sounds like you have a win win situation either way.

8K a year, times 4 years = 32K. Even if you get the scholarship, you're probably looking at what, maybe 16K.
My suggestion is pay for collage. Then do your time in the Air Force, and pile up some case while you're in.
If you do it right, you can still have a good time and come out with enough cash to pay for a new truck. (If you still want one 7-8 years from now.)

take the 20 grand, put it in a savings account the second you get it. keep the truck you have now and drive it till you're done with school. If you get the scholarship, great... dont touch the money. If you dont get it, then you have the money saved up and you STILL have your truck to drive.

Take the money for school man. The scholarship isn't always guaranteed. I went all 4 years w/out a ROTC because I screwed up my freshman year, and when I got everything back to qualify, the AF changed the standards. if anything, as Alon said, keep the money in a savings account. If you need it for school you got it, and if not, buy yourself a shiny new Lieutenant mobile when you graduate.

Yeah be happy with that money for school. It wont depreciate like the value of a new truck will over 4 years. Once you graduate, you should be making enough money to buy two trucks!

Join the delayed entry program. They pay all your school. And you cant be deployed tell you graduate in 4 years.

I would say throw the 20k in a high intrest CD for as long as you can then get a new truck with it. Then you can get every damn option the Ranger can take.

The only alternative to bring educated is hard work.

I hated school, but now my back hurts.

If you're thinking about air force you Better get some education! Don't want to ruin those pretty hands.

Go for the tuition..................the 2011 Ranger won't be anything special anyway.

At least with the tuition, you can use it to get an education and then get a job that will alow you to purchase a F150 of Super Duty...LOL

Two words.

No, not "New Truck."

They are "Education" and "Retirement."

Take the money now and save it. If you end up getting a scholarship or whatnot and you want a new truck buy the 2011 Ranger. You'll be able to keep that truck for a long time so I think it would be worth it. However if you don't end up getting a scholarship I'd use the money for tuition.

College...My buddies that didn't go to school are hurting now...especially with the economy in the dumps.

If I had to go back, which I considering doing, I would go for business management.

The whole marketing scene is overrated.
