going back and forth on gearing decision

im ready to regear the truck. just not sure what to go with still..

4.88 or 4.56

its more coming down to the highway driving

plan on staying with 35's

but not sure where my revs will be at when doing 70ish on the highway..

don't want them too high. but dont want to sacrifice power down low if i go with 4.65's

halp!!! lol

opinions por favor

well dude, i say what it comes down to more is what u use it for more, its your dd right... personally i say 4.56's.... but thats me. it will keep your rpms low and wont be too bad on the power.

according to randys ring and pinion calculator here is what follows

4.46 with 35s @ 70 will be 3146 before over drive,2145 after OD kicks in.

4.88 with 35s @ 70 wil be 3367 before over drive,2296 after OD kicks in.

either way its gonna save your tranny!

I agree my 265's with 4.10's i'm sitting around 2500-2800 roughly at 70-75. I love the 4.0, but the power isn't the greatest below 2500.

You could always get an overdirve splitter and gear the **** out of it. then flick a switch and cruise at 2200 rpm or less.

Not relevant really. Bigger tires, turning lore weight, etc. Same RPMs are not going to feel like stock anyway.
