Not looking for a trade nor selling the truck this instant since I still owe $12,500 after 3 years lol. But At this moment i'm thinking that selling her privatly would be better then trading at the dealership. I can deal with mailing my truck value to Ford Credit, pay what's leftover on interests, and save up for a down payment on another truck in hopes of paying lower then $460-500/month.

As for a new future ride I'm gonna keep my eye for another Ranger, possably an EDGE 4x4 or Tremor 4x4 both with an SOHC. I like the look of the Tremor because of the wheels and the MP3/CD6 deck, Pioneer 510-watt stereo looks nice. I'm not a fan of audio competition, just like some thump. An EDGE 4x4 is cheaper plus I can add the stereo off my old truck. Then again, there's so many great brand of audio and different opinions like "get this" or "don't get this". Yes they're very helpful but it could get me confused. lol What do you guys think?

Based on loose estimate of your mileage it appears you should drive the truck another year (make another year of payments) to not be upside down on the value versus what you still owe.

 

I really wonder why people buy new vehicles only to get into $500 payments. I bought my truck when it was 2 years old with 16 thousand miles on it for TONS less than the identical truck brand new. My dealer gave me a hell of a deal too, because I see Y2K 4x4's identical to mine for sale NOW for what I paid for mine then. When I saw that, I halfway wanted to sell it and turn a small profit purely on principle.

 

Well some of us like me were upside down by about $6k. I had to get rid of my POS Exploder before it drains the life outta me lol.

 

Yeah, mine listed that much (8K) the other day at the dealership, and mine is three years older.

I just did mine, and the trade-in on mine is $10,975 and dealer price would be $16,435..

I could make some off mine right now, I owe 9100 on it, long time to pay that off, lol..

P.S. I think that price is a lil off tho, lol, I only paid 10k for it when I bought it a year ago but have put a lot of stuff on it..

 

Did you do it for trade in or private party sale? There is a few thousand dollar diff between the two...

KBB says my 03 4x4 is worth $16,050 in a trade in. That's pretty good since I paid $20,139.00 in December of 2002!
