Nice custom muffler sound for a 4.0.

I was on Stangnet and ran into there v6 exhaust board. On there, I found this video of this guys mustang.

I think it sounds killer for a v6 4.0.

Here is the link to the company that makes them.

Got a little bit of a riceresque sound to it lol. I am not a big fan of exhaust on anything other than a V8 unless it's a turbo motor and actually needs it. To each his own. I don't think it sounds bad, just not something I would run.

Yeah he also has a "built" motor, lol. No normal 4.0 with magnaflow is going to sound like that.

JBA headers, 2.5in polished stainless "true" duals into 2 magnaflow high flow cats, into dual in dual out "tru-x" magnaflow muffler, to a lightning tip.... But yes, like said, everything before the exhaust (engine) has been tinkered with a lil...

Well, lets look at it in this point of view. Insurance is less on a V6, sticker price is less, transmission(if you get an auto) is better, add 4k upgrade(Explorer Express kit) and you are right there with or faster than a GT... Fuel mileage may be close to the same as the GT, you may not have the sound of the 4.6l 3valve, but I am kinda partial to the sound of the 4.0SOHC. People expect you to have something fast with a GT, but when you pull up beside them in a V6 and unexpectedly blow their doors off, that gains an exceptionally greater amount of respect than doing such a thing in a GT.

Nick, your Ranger sounds alot like my old '97 with no muffler with split daul tailpipes. I know it's not even campairing apples to apples (power wise) but the sound is close.

That being said.....the muffler is coming off my truck and something else going in it's place.

v6 vs v8

Personally i think that v6 mustangs flood the market and everyone thinks everyone has one when they are all v6 cars. personally i can get the gt for the price of v6 due to relatives at ford, but if ur getting a mustang then go for it and get the GT. by the time u put 4k into it as nick says then ur spending just as much as a gt n e ways. Plus getting a v6 as fast as a gt is extremely difficult. v6=iron block v8 gt=aluminum block big difference bud. one word DISPLACEMENT. 240ish vs 281. 210 vs 300 hp. 240 vs 320 ft-lbs. thta says it all. And if u care about insurance that much then buy a honda or sometin. And the lack of aftermarket parts for the v6 requires more money and time to upgrade than the v8 with its up and coming market.=)

Oh boy, another newb... You have no idea what kinda can of worms you are about to open...

Well lets see... NO aftermarket parts huh? I guess I could fill this thread with links to just some of the things available for the 4.0SOHC, but im not... Pistons, rods, crank, cams, valve springs, valves, heads, supercharger, turbocharger, headers, fuel injectors, cat back exhaust, transmission upgrades, and differential upgrades.... NOPE no aftermarket parts what so ever for the 4.0... Heavier? So i guess 2 more pistons, 2 more rods, 2 more rod journals on a longer crankshaft, longer timing chains, larger heads, 6 more valves, valve springs, retainers, larger intake, umm, nope no more weight there.... Dont post stupid comments without knowing your shat man...
