2000 Ranger V6, jerking when accelerating after shifting
Hi guys, was looking for some suggestions on a problem I am having. Its a 2000 4x4 3.0 V6 with 175,000 on it.
When I shift gears and accelerate the truck jerks for a few seconds, it shifts fine so I dont think its the transmission, but it seems to be getting worse in the past week, and its seems to do it more when the truck is cold. Its doesn't do it all the time, but has been happing more and more, and I noticed I loose a little power when going up a hill, I hope its a spark plug or wire problem.
Thanks for any thoughts.

similar thing happened to me recently... I was sure it was a tranny problem, but it turned out to be the motor hesitating right after certain shifts. The coil pack had a some rust where one of the wires plugged in. So take your plug wires off and check all the connections to make sure they are clean. I ended up replacing the pack and the plugs/wires too just for good measure. Problem solved.
