U Joint question?

I read the how to on the U-joints but when you put the new one in you have to pack it with grease right? It didnt say to but Im guessing you have to.

most new ones are already greased and good to go

Aw ok I was thinking that but I didnt want to sound stupid if I was wrong haha I think Im gona give it a shot if autozone has the part. Thanks!

One more thing what size bearing cap would myn be I have a 02 2wd edge 3.0

um most i have seen just have enough on the bearings to assemble it, you want to use the Zerc fitting supplied with it and put in more grease after install, with a grease gun then regrease those every oil change...

what you mean the cap on the u-joint? go to a auto store like autozone and they will give you the correct one. they might ask if you have a alum or steel drive shaft and being your a 3.0L you have the steel most likely...

I went to autozone and they asked me what size bearing cap I have and I told them I had no clue and they said I need to find out.

well here is something get under the truck and messure on the inside of the hole where the C-clip is...

I bought the 1.06 instead of the 1.25 inch my measurements were closer to 1.06 than 1.25.

Yeah Im pretty sure it will work but if not I will just take it back. Its to cold to be out in the garage today though, Im used to the 80's we have had the past 2 weeks.
