Now it won't start

Well I tried to start my truck to go to work last night and it wouldn't start. I assumed it was a bad battery and just drove my roommates truck to work. I tried to jump it this morning and it still wouldn't start. It's cranking and all the lights and everything are working but it won't start. I can't get it to an auto parts store to test anything and I can't get it to a shop until Monday. Does anybody have a clue what could be going on or have some ways I can diagnose it as it is?

85,000. Ya I'm thinking it might be a fuel pump problem because of some other issues it had. I wish this didn't happen on a Saturday.

Turn the key forward but do not crank it over. Listen for the fuel pump. If you don't hear the pump then you might need to reset the inertia switch under the dash, as the previous poster mentioned. It's just a breaker that shuts off fuel flow in the event of an accident.

Well I found the switch but I'm not able to push it. I was pushing on it pretty hard but it looks like it is already pushed in if that makes sense.

Is the fuel pump kicking on when you turn the key forward, not cranking the engine over?

To be honest I'm kind of hard of hearing so I don't know. I tried to listen but I couldn't tell.

Get someone to help you. Open the fuel door and remove the fuel cap, then have someone turn the key forward but do not crank the engine over. Put your ear up to the fuel filler near the fuel door. You'll hear it really well that way..

At this point you just don't know that for sure. He has to find out if the pump is kicking on first. Then, if it's not he can check the relay and also see if there is power getting to the pump by checking the wires, to see if it is the relay. Easily done. If the pump is kicking on then he'll have to check his fuel filter, and possibly other parts of the fuel system.

OP did mention that he had to jump it. So that would also point to a weak battery, etc. We just need more info and a more detailed description/timeline on how and when the problems occured.
