Calling All 04-06 3.0 V6 Rangers!!!

All right guys, i'm in some need of help from my 04-06 3.0 V6 brothers. I've tried effortlessly to get a working intake in my truck. Both K&N and Volant were flops for me. They threw lean codes and caused check engine lights. Needless to say its driving me crazy. I only need this, headers, and a bama chip to complete my engine mods. So I want to hear from anyone who has a 04-06 3.0 V6 and has had this problem or has had a working intake with no problems. 4.0 liter engines need not comment. I believe there systems work with intakes. The reason I want to hear from the 04-06 group is because we have different intake system then those of later year models. Thanks for the help guys.....

Make sure you bought the right year intake for your truck. As long as you did you shouldn't be having those problems.

also i think you have to unplug your computer after you install it to let it learn the intake...

I put the K&N on my truck and didn't have to do anything but drive it. No codes or anything. If you've got a lean code you may have a vacuum leak somewhere because an intake doesn't change the air/fuel mixture directly since the Mass Air Flow sensor meters all air coming in. A lean code is usually due to a vacuum leak past the MAF. Make sure you didn't overtighten and crack your MAF and check the seal at the throttle body for false air.
