I got a thing in the mail a month ago about how I can "do a straight key-to-key exchange for a new ford, since my lease can be terminated early yadda yadda, w/e.

But just this week I got the EXACT same thing (its like a bogus check with a $1000 credit towards a new vehicle + a key swap) in the mail from NISSAN.

Why the hell would Ford want me to end my lease with Nissan and drive off with a Nissan? Im totally baffled about this.

I really wanna stick with ford, but its making it hard to. I have seen so many fords come into the shop with bad ball joints and major front end issues, I dont think I will ever get anbother one, atleast BUY one. Maybe lease. ATM Im thinking of getting a wrangler, but dont really like the idea of putting a down payment. Im used to just handing over my keys and driving off with a new ford. This is my 3rd ranger.

 

Stick with another ranger depending on how long your lease is for it might be your last chance to get a new one. They wont be making them much longer according to an article I read.

 

Problem is they dont have many here. I moved to Brooklyn (I used to live in MN, near the actual Ranger plant, so I had hundreds to chose from) But down in the NYC area, there are literally like 3 Rangers at all of the dealers, most are 2wd, white, power nothing 3.0's with stick. And they even have hte nerve to charge 20k for them!

I have an 06 XLT 4x4 with everything, and I the sticker was 22k.
It only has 8200 miles on it ATM, so I was considering buying it, since it really love the truck, and put new 285/75/16's on it and added shackles (I can always take them off when the lease is over) but I know once I own it, thingswill start to break left and right. Im tired of seeing Ford trucks coming into my shop with $1000 front end bills, and they only have around 35-50k miles.

But I love my truck, it actually turns alot of heads here. Theres mercedes and BMW's all over, lots of muranos and PoS crossover 4x4 wannabes, but nobody notices those. They DO notice however, a jacked up black beast of american truck driving by. You can kind of see the look on their face like "where the hell did he get that pickup, and WTF is a ranger?" as they put off in theyre metro grocery getters.

 

Interesting I have been around fords all of my life and the only one we had problems with was our 96 windstar which that motor was know for blowing headgaskets, but that wasn't untill after 100K+ miles. I have had my current ranger since 04 it has close to 60k on it and no front end problems at all and I use to beat the crap out of it on bad roads lol. I even cranked my tbars. Never had any problems. This is also my 3rd ranger and I've also had 3 mustangs as well as a few non for vehicles.

 

well.... your ranger has that spiffy 60K miles warranty, so what u worried about? and besides, if you end your lease early, to buy another vehical, that lease still needs to be paid off, and they may try to roll it into your new lease which will make ur price go up. or u can do what i did, and at the end of your lease, you can buy the truck, and wait 3 months to get a bill for it, and then be charged a late fee, cause u get two bills at once cause one got 'stuck' somewhere.

and remember, NEVER EVER EVER let your ford bill slide more than a month or it WILL hit your credit report at 31days.

 

Isnt it 3 years 60,000 miles? Im already at year 2 o.O
