DUMB question

I have a question that prolly sounds dumb to most of you, but I am not sure of the answer. I was driving the other day behind a car and all of the sudden he ran over this board and me being right behind him ran over it too. Turns out there was a nail in it...I noticed no puncture to my tire, so i missed it in that regards, but there was a gouge in the sidewall of my tire. It is about a 4 inch long gouge. Its not all the way through the sidewall of the tire, but it does seem that the tire sidewalls are pretty thin and im worried about having a blowout now.....I know sidewalls often get cracks and stuff in them from wear, but should i be worried about a blowout with this gouge from the nail in the sidewall?...IM asking becuase id hate to get a new tire, because its almost a brand new tire and they do not make this tire anymore so id have to get 2 or 4 which would be apain in the ***.

Where did you buy from? if they are almost new and discontinued i would go back to the store and try to work something out with them. They might give you 4 new tires since 1 is now bad, and cant be replaced...

What kind of tires are they?
