So im wondering for those who have the optima batteries, how are they? Ive heard they're like the best battery out there, but what else is the advantage of getting one. And im curious what the difference is between the red top and yellow top?

I guess we will see how long it lasts but with the neons and my love of the radio when Im washin the truck the optima was a must..:)
I would go with it man..my truck has never started so quick and easy before..its a nice battery for sure!
I think the yellow top is especially for low draw applications its prob. a better battery I believe

A yellow top is a deep cycle battery so it will last longer if lest say you have a big system going with the car off.

I have a sliver of wood that keeps my red top nice and snug. I love my red top, especially becasue it matches my paint

I used a 75/35 OR in my 2003 that I got from Auto Zone where my buddy gave me a couple different adapters to mess with and this is what I did for a stable no budge battery mount with no modifications to the truck.

I'm running a 75/35-925 red top in my 05. It dropped right in with the base provided and still used the stock clamp. It aint going no where! The battery cables were a little short with the after market billet clamps, so I used the screw in side post adapters (3.99 from ABC Auto) and clamped the cables to the side. Looks clean and works great! My truck starts easier than ever, & I seem to get better bass response than before, even with the 1.2 farad capacitor!
