Ordering Hids 12K or 10K? 55W

I'm ordering them today and need some input. What ones should I get? I want them to look blue, will the 12's have too much purple?

8000K is the slight blue.

10K+ is overkill and that's when you get into purples. Please light output is decreased too much with those bulbs.

if i see anyone with purple, dark blue, green or yellow headlights, I point at them Laugh and call the cops, because it is illegal to have them. I'm a *****, so don't break the law around me!

my 5,000k 35w's are damn near white once they're warmed up.. If you're getting 55w I would suggest 8,000k

12,000k is pretty damn blue. with a slight pinch of purple.

IMO, you shouldn't be considering anything above 8k because it's really an attention getter IMO. I have a hard enough time with 6,000k's and State Police. You only need 35W and they're stille pretty damn bright...I'd hate to see 55w in a reflector housing...

And if you're getting HID's over 6000k, you're getting it for 'the look' and color. Output of them just totally suck compared to 4300 or 6 or even 8k. And I keep thinking there's a cop somewhere because it shines off anything in a pure blue hue. I hate 'em. Only got 'em for the purple...and was very disappointed they didn't have more purple in 'em.

Here's 12,000k 35w.

Truck on right has 6000k heads, 3000k fogs. My truck on left is 12000k heads, 30000k fogs...

Be prepared to wait a couple weeks.

I ordered my kit last week on Monday the 8th... they didn't ship 'em out until YESTERDAY. And it'll take another week for UPS to get them to me. They've got some SLOOOOOOW shipping responses, but their product is cheap and reliable.

Yeah... some people HAVE had good luck with them... but if you check out their Facebook page, you can see many wall posts about waiting too long for shipping.

10,000k 55w kits look like 6-8,000k 35w kits. They're a much brighter light so it takes a high Kelvin rating to add color.

I remember someone telling me if you flash them on and off you fry the box (cant think of the damn word) anyways, Yea my fogs don't work anymore, now I get to deal with the customer service and warranty, hopefully its not a pain.

Yeah... I called them the day after (Tuesday) I placed the order because I couldn't pull up their site to check on my order status. They told me that my 4 HID kits would be shipped out before Friday.

They were shipped until the following Tuesday.

Yeah... HID's (at least aftermarket ones... not sure about OEM kits) aren't designed to be "flashed" It takes a lot of voltage IIRC to ignite the bulbs, making "flashing" a big nono.

I'd imagine OEM HID's are the same, but I'm not positive... just a educated guess.

They said flashing them would not be a deal, plus they have a lifetime warranty. Sullys_ranger's hids are exactly what I don't want. I hate that light blue color. I like a bit of darker blue with more white.

They don't like to be rapidly turned on and off.

That's why i'm glad my low's and highs are separate on my contour. It doesn't turn the low's off when you goto the high beams.
