Pillar guages?

Ive got a 98' 2.5L and i dont have a Tach in it but i want to put one in, but at the same time i dont wanna just bolt it to my dashboard and have it look all half assed and cheesy. I was thinking that i could get a pillar cluster for the drivers side and just throw in a small tach there. Any other ideas of where to mount a tach so that it doesnt look tacky? (no pun intended) Or any ideas of where i might be able to get a pillar cluster that would fit my truck?

^^What he said.....it's a direct swap....and you can get gauge clusters for cheap! $30-60 shipped depending on what you want....still cheaper than a good Auto Meter tach. Explorer White Faced or 03 Ranger silver faced too....ebay is great for those. All are direct swaps. Swapping the odometer is pretty easy too(expect a how-to from me on that here in a few days....still gotta do that).

Here's some to look at(I always have good things to say about LKQ)

(they want too much for this one...but here's what a silver '03 one looks like..)

Yes...you can get pillar pods......two 2 1/16" gauges...but i've never seen a tach that small. But your cheapest, easiest, best lookin' bet........is upgrading your cluster. No added wires needed, just pull your old one out, put the new one in...done! You now have a tachometer.
