Seat Belt Minder
Iv seen a lot of these questions so here ya go…
This is not intended so you can drive without wearing your seat belt, and further more I am not responsible if you harm your self, anyone, or anything else while not wearing your safety restraint.
Deactivating/activating the BeltMinder feature 2003 Ranger (not sure on other years)
Read steps 1- 9 thoroughly before proceeding with the deactivation/activation programming procedure.
Before following the procedure, ensure that the following conditions are met:
The parking brake is set.
The gearshift is in the P (Park) (automatic transmission) or in the neutral position (manual transmission).
The ignition switch is in the OFF position.
All vehicle doors are closed.
The drivers safety belt is unlocked
The parklamps/headlamps are in OFF position (If vehicle is equipped with Autolamps, this will not affect the procedure.
To reduce the risk of injury, do not deactivate/activate the BeltMinder feature while driving.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the run (or ON) position. (DO NOT START THE ENGINE.)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1-2 minutes.)
Steps 3-5 must be completed within 60 seconds or the procedure will have to be repeated
3. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the belt unlocked.
4. Turn on the parklamps/headlamps, turn off the parklamps/headlamps.
5. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the belt unlocked.
After step 5 the safety belt warning light will be turned on for three seconds
6. Within seven seconds of the safety belt warning light turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
This will disable BeltMinder if it is currently enabled, or enable it if its currently disabled
7. Conformation of disabling BeltMinder is provided by:
The safety belt warning light flashing four times per second for three seconds
Followed by three seconds with the safety belt warning light off.
Once again, the safety belt warning light will flash four times per second for three seconds
9. After receiving confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.

Not that I would condone not wearing a seat belt...Just plain stupid in its own right, but does this work on the 07' models..bc i carry alot of heavy crap in my passenger seat alot...(heavy packs and big freakin military radios-made of steel) and anything over say...45lbs, then my truck thinks someone is sitting there....and the only way to keep the chiming from happening every 2min is to buckle my cargo...kind of annoying really.

Fyi:
1. I think the use of seatbelts should be a CHOICE, not a law! If I'd of been
wearin a seatbelt in my 1st headon collision (67 Chevelle into 76 Mustang
II, put frontend into motor & motor into firewall), I wouldn't of been
around for the second one.............all I did was break my nose on the
steerin wheel, if I'd of been strapped in, I'd of had fatal internal injuries!
THAT'S A FACT BOYS!!!
2. I believe that children should be strapped in, as they don't see what's
comin & are flyin objects on impact.
3. You don't have to do all the listed above steps, unless ya wanta.....all
you have to do is pick up a set of seatbelt extenders (FREE at your
local Ford dealer) and put them in, then your trucks seatbelt sensors
think your strapped in.
They don't ever give ya the true stats, cause it's 50/50 on whether they are gonna help ya or hurt ya, but the government won't ever admit it.
My Father-in-Law's fiancee' was killed due to wearin a seatbelt, as the car was hit on her side & she was strapped in, so it held her in place & busted her up............paramedics said if she wouldn't of been held in place, she may of been hurt, but not killed.
My second headon type wreck, a 16yo girl (she had just got her license the week of the accident) & her cousin were in a 73 Nova SS, she turned infront of me at a intersection & I T-boned her @ 65mph with my 70 Chevelle, it was my fiancee' (Wife now) sittin in the middle front, her 2 sisters & brother in the back, and me drivin.........nobody in my car was hurt (I had a ring on my chest from the steerin wheel, but unhurt)...............her cousin seen it comin when she turned into my path & jumped from the pass. seat onto her lap........if he'd of been strapped in, he'd of been DEAD! My car pushed the side of that Nova in so far, my hood ripped the vinyl top................
NOW, that's my experiences.............as I said, should be a CHOICE for adults!
Just my O2 and fix for the guys like me that don't believe in usin em, except when we're bein pulled over by Johnny Law! ALWAYS have it on BEFORE I stop!

mine dings, but will stop after you push the button. but if you get out... it DOES get annoying, cause you have to do it all over again... but i did get a $75 ticket pulling into school 2 yrs ago i pulled around the corner, and the cop radio'd ahead to a group of other cops. by the time i got around the 2nd corner i had it buckled. he STILL gave me a ticket!!! they had about 30 of us on the side of the road. all the teachers drove past and gave us crap during class about SAFETY.
