Plate Steel Bumper Build Measurement Help

Hey, I am currently building a steel plate bumper in my machines shop class at school. I did a cardboard mock up but it just doesn't seem right. Does anyone have a cad file or a dfx/dwg file that they could send me? We have a cnc plasma cutter so with any cad file I can plug it in and auto cut out the pieces. Please don't refer me to google, I have tried many different links off of google with no success and this is kinda my last hope to get a file. Even a picture of exact blueprints would help a ton. Just having trouble getting all the measurements together! Thanks and I really appreciate any help!

If you're building this for school, wouldn't it be cheating to use someone else's design file? Not to mention you're missing out on a great educational opportunity by building it yourself. Don't take shortcuts in school!

Its not for school, not for a grade or anything. I am doing it in school because I dont have any other place to work. And my teacher said to search around to find some blueprints we could use on our cnc plasma cutter. Really just need something straightforward.

I would normally tell someone to get off their high horse.. but in this case you are absolutely right, haha.

If you're designing this thing using AutoCAD.. using someone else's file is cheating. You're not going to learn anything if you don't try to figure it out.

Take measurements for the vehicle you are putting it on, cut cardboard and get an idea.. you can tweak it later in autocad to make it symmetrical and straight.

I doubt you're going to find someone that will just freely give you the design file for a custom bumper they made. I know I wouldn't without charging you for it. If you search for threads on custom bumpers here, you may find enough pics of one to go off of, but it probably won't include the critical measurements.

x2 if i had a file with measurements I'd probably charge at least 3x the price of just buying 1 bumper because he could profit off of it if he wanted to. Roughly speaking, $6k

"2015 Ranger XLT"

LOL OK - probably is trying to make money off of it

X3, the only people who would have a cad file of a bumper would be manufacturers who make aftermarket bumpers. This is why custom aftermarket parts are marked up so much higher than just material costs. There is a lot of time and money that goes into trial and error modeling to get a bumper to fit perfectly with good looking lines.

I am an engineer and I have many "cookie cutter" files in cad that I use in various projects, but I would never freely share this with someone else outside of my company.
