tailpipe hanger

Just put a new exhaust on a 99. The rubber on the tailpipe hanger was broken. I had a heck of a time trying to make it work. The pin that holds the top of the rubber to the bracket seems to be peened and the only way I could remove the pin to replace the rubber was to use a Dremel tool to cut it off and use a nut and bolt to replace that pin. Am I missing something here or do you have to go to the stealership and get a whole bracket with rubber hanger?

A little late now, but I just sprayed the rubber with WD40 and it just slipped right out. You probably will need a new hanger now. Look around at parts stores or online before going to ford, you can probably find one for half the price.
