key problem?
I recently bought a 2004 ranger in Sept of 07 and just found out that my ignition key does not open my doors , just my remote works on opening and closing my doors, can anyone please tell my if they have had similar problems and do you think I have to go back to the dealer and have them change my keys?..thanks

As long as your power door locks hold up you should be fine. I have the sneaking suspicion the Dealers going to tell you sorry...They may offer to re-key the lock cylinders, but Im sure their going to want an arm and a leg. I'd just pull them and take them into a local locksmith and have them re-keyed.

Im a locksmith here in town, and we see this alot. Usually the lock it corroded, because noone uses the key (like myself) just uses the remote to lock/unlock.
Spray alot of WD-40 in the lock, and if you have PB blaster works really well too. and then run the in/out alot, and usually that takes care of it.
If its really corroded, just pull your door panels, and remove the locks, and just get 2 nre onrd, from a locksmith.
Good luck!
