Cats gutted?
#5
the mil eliminator will eliminate the cel. as long as the physical outside of the cat is there, you will pass inspection. and since your CEL wont be on, you will be ok. if they sniff it tho, you may fail. in CT they just plug it in so you would be fine for emissions too.

The OP didn't even post what codes are throwing the CEL.
How do we know how to answer this ?
And Josh,
Maybe you're too young to remember the old Exxon/Mobile commercials , Put a Tiger In Your Tank ?

Well , gutting the cats would serve no purpose other than change the sound anyway.
Rangers already have hi-flow cats so no performance will be gained.
But if a cat is plugged , there is another problem . Only a major engine issue will plug a cat , so that would have to be fixed first.

About what?
Seriously , yes i know by law you must have all of your cat on your car and in working order.
But seriously come on. Obviously the guy knows its illegal or else he wouldn't be looking for ways to get away with it right?
AND im sure you do not abide by EVERY single law out there. Believe me you don't. So just let it go. Ive said mine and im done arguing over the internet...

thats one thing good about my old '93, no after-cat sensor, gut the cat and no problems. i could care less about it being a federal offence, it would be pretty hard to prove i did it and not a former owner. it didnt seem to have any more power but it didnt hurt anything either. still looks stock from the outside as well. i dont let laws rule over my life, i am a non-seat belt wearer and ive torn all the labels from my pillows. lol
