Just got my license friday, and absolutely love driving my ranger, just wanted to share! These forums have been incredibly helpful, so thank you to the mods, and to everyone who participates and contributes

That's cool Pat. I remember my first day with a license.

I've "been there done that" and have two children older than you. A word of advise.. Don't get over confident in your driving skills. Nearly everyone is cautous at first. But when they have been driving 3mos to a year is when it'll happen. Stay alert every day.

Sorry for the extra post.. But I just feel motivated to share something.

Don't take warnings like this lightly. I told my son the exact same things time and time again. He did'nt listen.. and here is what happened.

Keep it between the ditches for sure, and don't be the "cool kid" and try to impress your friends with trying to break land speed records..........1) it's a truck, and 2) they arn't the ones paying for the repairs.

Just some helpfull pointers. Oh and one more quick thing.......If ANY of us hear about you drinking and driving....well I guess it goes without saying.

Now go enjoy your new found freedom and the Ranger.

yea ive had mine for two years now, and im still not very experianced, although the diffrence in how i drove when i first got my liscense to now is like night and day.... they teach you the minimum and once youre actually out there its all diffrent because theres no one with you... i used to hate driving through this shopping center area because it was 'way to crowded' but now i can drive through cleveland in rush hour without much of a problem... the more you drive the better youll feel.... and dont get any tickets, ive had zero accedents and tickets...

Yea be careful man. Ive had mine two years and Ive had no tickets or accidents either. But that dosent mean I havent had any close calls. I think someone else said something about it, but remember...you drive a truck. Theres no need to show it off. People notice it. Its not about speed...
