All recent Ranger 15" and 16" wheels are 7" width except the base XL 4x2 steelie. It is 15x6 with 4" backspacing.

i must have had some special rims when i bought my new edge back in 2000:

right on the invoice, it states: 16x8 alluminum wheels .... and when i ordered my other wheels, they said my style of truck has 16x8's... so how can you guys say all 15 and 16 inch rims are 7 inches wide? ( and please don't tell me that my rims are 7, or the invoice is wrong) is it maybe because i have an edge 4x4?

Well if you want the truth, ^^^^ then that's what I am going to tell you, as will many others. Don't get me wrong, I am not insinuating that you are wrong, because that may very well be what it says, but to the BEST of my knowledge, they are all 7" wide. My 2004 is 16x7, and you probably have the same wheels I do........

EDIT: You are not talking about the wheels you have on there now, are you? Because those aren't stock.

Is this your stock wheel? Because this is what I have, and its 16x7........

Your Edge came from the factory with 7" rim width. If your paperwork says that the factory wheels are 16x8, then it is wrong. 4x4 or not.

Read the manufacturer's certification label on the driver's door jamb. That will show you that the factory installed wheels were 16x7.

Also, if you still have the original wheels, they should have the dimensions stamped in the rim, probably on the back side. That has been a DOT requirement for many years.

Good info. I just looked at a bare Alcoa in the garage. On that one, it was on the back side where you can see it only if the wheel is removed from the truck. I have a Honda steel wheel that has it marked on the outside rim flange and I think I remember seeing some Acura aluminum wheels that had it under the center cap near the lug nuts. It sounds like the wheel manufacturer gets to put it just about anywhere on the wheel.
