Broke my ranger. Need help.

Well i hit a big *** bump on the road and clunk. Look and my beds sagging.

Get out and look under and the front leaf spring holder next to the gas tank is snapped.

How much are these? And do i have to drop the tank?

I should replace both if i can find a nice set at pull a part i will get them.

FML.

i don't think you have to pull the tank but you might wanna remove the bed. if it is what i think it is, they are riveted on. since your's is a 93 and you live in the rust belt, it's safe to say that rust is the culprit. alot of guys when they fix that or even flip the rear one (so they can lower the truck) just use grade 8 hardware and bolt it to the frame. as for buying replacement parts, sorry. i dunno where.

LMC probably has them. rockauto might too. LMC is into restoration stuff but i've been told rockauto is cheeper.

i had the same problem on my 95 but it was the rear hangers, not the front. you can get them at most auto part stores, and they arent too expensive, i think i paid around 25 a side for the hangers and around 20 for the shakles. you could also look on ebay. DONT GET USED ONES!!! its not worth the few bucks you save to have to do it again sooner than later. i changed them with the bed on, but it wasnt fun. i did do it myself though and i had a side done in just a couuple hours. i would recomend taking the bed off if you can, it would be way easier. and you should just do the front and back on both sides. if one broke, the other ones are on their way, trust me.

don't forget to disconnect any electrical for the tails and the gas filler neck too.

Edit: i looked in the LMC catalogue in my bathroom and they have those parts for $29.95 each. just to give you a ballpark.

i dont think the hangers need to be changed to do a lift, especially the front hangers, i know people change the shakles, which is the linkage between the leafspring and rear hanger. go ahead and change them, or the leafsprings will put holes in your bed.

Tons of people change their hangars. They are usually the first thing to go on rusted out rangers.

How to change the spring shackle and hanger on your Ford Ranger

Leaf Spring Bracket Replacement

I plan on doing mine soon. I just bought metal blades for my saws-all and I just bought a grinder at Harbor Freight so I just need to pick up the hangars and hardware.

Well went to the local pull a part 50 miles away to see what they have.

I almost cried and couldnt pass getting parts from this ranger. 1994 with blown 3.0 no rust on any pannels and mint paint.

Got a headliner thats honestly new, visors, black grill, tail light to replace cracked one,and a cup holder to replace my broken one for 60 bucks not too bad!

Still working on truck carpet comes out tonight for bedliner.
