quick reassurance please!!

so basicallly my truck is a frankenstein!! it's an '07 ford ranger, but when it was rebuilt the guy mixed some cosmetic stuff up with whatever he found..

I have a later model grille/hood/bumper.. nd i wanna change it out for the 07 pretty much nd i found this set on ebay that i liked, but it comes with "HEADLAMP MOUNTING PANEL"

my true question is if i already have one in the truck.. i'm not going to need to get another one cuz i can just keep the one i have cuz it'll fit the same way?? or i need to get a new one cuz it won't fit??

i just need some reassurance cuz ive been told a couple things by a few people nd got curious!! OPINIONS PLEASE!!

THANK YOU
Cortney

What front end is on your truck? If it's an 07 front end then the new 07 will be a direct replacement.

So the guy put an 98-00 front sheet metal on an ’07 !

Here is what I know from reading on this site…
When some of the members switched from there '00 front sheet metal to an '03 Power dome hood/sheet metal they had to change the inner header panel also. So I would think that it is the same in reverse.

Why would someone switch backwards, funny !
Did you check out the VIN to make sure you got an “07 ?

If you have a gen 4 front end now you would need to get the new grill, headlights, corners, header panel, hood. The bumper could stay but will just look out of place.

That 'light mount' is the header panel.

I bet many people could do this to make the truck less attractive and prevent thief attention.

As Adam said you basically need a new front end if you're gonna get an 07 hood. Rebuilt twice? Just kill the damn thing.

Those are not the same. You have an 01-03 front end. The one in the first picture is a 98-00 front end.

The grille does not determine the year of the truck btw. I have an 03 FX4 grille in my 04. The styles of the grille surround and hood is what determines the year. Yours is 01-03 front end.

yeah thats an 01-03 2wd front end you'll need everything to swap to 2007 but its really easy to do.

The spacer you have would be your front lift. Although 3" is more then I would run as the ride will be horrible.

Your options for lifting are bigger coils, coil spacers, spindles or body lift. My spindles were fine and a lot of other guys have run them in the past as well without problems.

Yep, he must have had a non-insurance covered accident. They do have quite a different array of front ends for those last 6 years. Mine had that ugly generic looking black all over theme to it. I ordered the 08 set up and got the chrome grill. The 07 seemed to be the mix of the bunch, from the XL to the STX of that year I noticed a big difference in the style of the front ends but the rear style was only different with the painted bumper.
