"Frustrated" Need Real Direct Advice 4x2 lift

Guys please dont clown me, Im 50yrs old and need some true and direct advice from you folks, I want to lift this ranger 3-6 inches total, and thats with tries, What I want is to be able to use 31-33s tires, I have been told that lifting it would mean that I have to get bumper brackets to reposition my bumper and shifter extension and other lord knows what.

Now I have a 3.0 cool, lol 4x2 5-speed manual and I know darn well I dont need to do all that crap for a simple 3inch lift, I also have been told to get a cheap summot lift for about $200, will this work? I have also been told to go to the JY and get the springs from a explorer and have them rearched to the ranger spec, and to buy a set of spindles from fabtec, Is this plausable? IDK Im so damn confused as most say goodluck finding 3in spindle from fabtec.

Somebody please help me out with full details/sites/items needed/ exact writeups/ everything, I beg you Please, and if the right person helps me with this, I have almost any part you need to add or complete your ranger, and will ship it at my cost and no cost to you. THANKS

Lol dude you're stressing over small stuff.

first off, the body lift does require a shifter extension and bumper brackets and blahblahblah. But they aren't hard to deal with. Although bumper bolts can be annoying. It is the "Summit 200$" lift that you were told about. I don't know why "you know damn well" but you're wrong. Those are the steps, i have the lift on my truck, it took a day to install with a buddy. Not hard, just old bolts can be annoying.

Secondly, there's two SUSPENSION LIFTS for 2wd that i can remember. Some 2WD dude will help you out with that.

If you're going for cheap, body lift is the best route.

Also, someone else is gonna say "you can buy a 3000$+ lift from XXX Company for prerunners. Yah, you obviously don't want that.

Additionally, instead of "springs rearched" from explorer, you could just as easily buy shackles and an add-a-lead for your current rear axle. I'd assume its teh same amount of lift.

the cheapest way to do it is the $200 body lift from summit
it raises the body 3 inches which also means you have to raise the bumbers and shifter extension but that is all included with the kit, its not that difficult really

Okay I see you guys are agreeing with the summit kit, than let me ask this, Why do so many folks say the bumper brackets are cheap and they are easily bent, idk but hell i guess i will buy it,

"What size tires would i be able to carry doing the lift through summit?
and would i have speedo problems as for as 5-10mph reading difference?

Ummm the bumpers wont be as strong as stock but honestly if u do anything hard enough to break em you prolly crashed your truck. I tow my jetski off of my bodylifted bumper. My front bumper feels very solid. I could jump on both and feel ssafe.

People just whine about everything. Also there's a thread under one of the forums telling you what tire size. It's probably under the "wheels and tires" subforum.

Or you can do what I kinda did. My parents bought me a lift for Christmas, it was simple. Went into 4wheel parts, said lift me, and drove out with Fabtech spindles on the front and blocks in the rear. I'd very much advise against the blocks. But to break it down...

My truck has on it...

FRONT :Fabtech 3 inch lift spindles. Part number FTS98200-7
REAR : 1994 Mazda Navajo springs (a.k.a. Ford Explorer). Took them from a junkyard rig and didn't touch them, just installed and was done. NO re-arch. AND... Belltech 6400 shackles.

Those to together plus 265/75 R16 (a.k.a. 32x10.5 R16) Goodyear Duratracs give you this...

So as you can tell the rear has been lifted 4 1/2 inches, and the front 3. So it keeps it's truck rake and not sit level. Also because this is a suspension lift, and NOT a body lift, you do NOT have exposed frame hanging down. And I didn't have to cut my hitch and move the exhaust and all that other crap. More money yes, but MUCH better outcome. I get looks all the time with this truck, I think it came out about perfect for a mild lift.

For my 2WD I am doing 3 inch lift spindles up front. I don't recommend Fabtech. I would go with Doetsch. In the back you can go with Add-A-Leafs, which will come with the Fabtech lift spindles. Or you can go get some Expo leafs. Or lift shackles. There are are a lot of different options for the rear axle but you either have to get spindles or lift coils up front.

or you can do what i did and do 3 inch lift spindles (mine are fabtech) but doetsch are much cheaper ...about 300 ...then spend about 30 bucks and get a pair of daystar coil spacers roughly 2 inches or so...and for the rear i the beltech shackles and then (i had some of the welders at work make me a 2 inch block and i got some u bolts from work also) you can go yo auto zone for another 30 and get a block and ubolt kit....after it was all said and done it took me about 3 hours in a shop with a lift...so thats roughly 5 or so driveway time....so about 5 inches in the front and about 4 in the rear.....

With the spacer and the lift spindles does it equal 5 inches of front lift total or 3 inches of lift and the spacers help keep the spring from being slack?

lack?
Welli put the spacers on before I put the spindles on...and I've kept track of measurements and stuff....and its just shy of 5...I've already test fitted some 33 12.5s and I can clear them no problem

They provide a little cushion for the springs but lift it up a little also...minimal 1.5 inches imo
