I bought a ranger because mazda's look goofy, no aftermarket for them at all what so ever, and well....ranger parts are WAY more plentiful than the mazdas. Plus 'mazda' = import in my mind. BTW...I know i drive a mazda with ford badging. And mazda's are rangers with mazda badging. PLUS...NOTHING beats a 01-03 honeycomb grille + 01-03 powerdome hood + the great looking 01-03 bumper and valence.

and im sorry i posted pics of s10s, they were only there to illustrate a point (although i would love to have an xtreme / zq8 with a 4.3l v6 5spd (sticks were rare on the 6cyl)

Now that that's out of the way, the ranger looks better to me, hence why I bought one. It's all personal taste, some like mazda's some like ranger's.

I like both honestly. Especially since Mazda FINALLY painted that ugly *** black panel between the door glass and the ext. cab window!

 

ranger all the way. but i think there should have been a both option becuz they really do look just about the same on the outside. i think that the ranger looks better though, becuz of the grille and everything looks nicer, but thats the same way with any truck that looks the same way. domestics look better imo.

 

I really don't mind that there aren't any "parts" for Mazda. Because the only parts not made for it are body parts, you can get lifts, tires and other things that non-street queens need.

I think this thread was pointless.. Honestly who cares? But since everyones throwing an opinion, so will I. I think the Ranger is a much more classy looking truck, seems to be a more eye catching truck.. Its the real deal, not a "knock off". No offense, im sure the mazdas are nice, but Im glad to say I own a Ford Ranger...Again, im sure there is really nice looking ones out there but, its not for me. Sorry.

 

i love my mazda, and out of all my ranger buddies i am the only one who owns one, but do to the fact i got lift, big tires, cb, with antennas, and bedlights i get complimented alot more compared to my otehr friends, mazda has its pros, and cons, buts the same mechanically truck, hell you can make a mazda look better then a ranger or vise versa, all depends on taste and budget

That being said, I've told Shane this, I'll say it here... I think these trucks are both Jokes... and we're all sick in the head for loving them and having a passion. Seriously, the functionality of the trucks as trucks are nothing to brag about, the biggest motor in them is a 4.0L v6, and the payload/towing rating's on them are worthless. Needless to say I absolutly love my Ranger, and compared to my old fullsize, it's a freaking go-cart! Oh and how many times do things break on em? I swear, when one thing gets fixed, something else breaks on mine... but I still love the damn truck!

come on you mean to tell me it doesnt **** you off that we cant even get clear corners, let alone a billet grill for our trucks? The only mod i have to look forward to exteriorwise is if i one day stumble upon a wrecked 01+ thats green ill take the grill and maybe the clear heads / corners

im fairly happy with mine, i successfully hauled 2 mtn bikes, a 10' jon boat, and a bunch of other stuff from WI to CA last month, and a while before that towed a 5x8 uhaul trailer with the bumper hitch ... so i wouldnt completly say they arent functional .... i think these trucks (the 4cyl specifically) is the perfect compromise between a car and a full size as far as daily drivers go especially with todays gas prices

 

I agree with 04BlackFX4, if you don't like the truck soundmaster, then trade it for something else. I love my Ranger. All I used to have was full-size trucks before this. It gets the job done for me. I have had the springs almost all the way compressed and it did just fine. I mean, I can't pull me tandem axle trailer with it with a truck on it but that is what you expect with buying a Ranger. If I may ask, why did you buy the Ranger in the first place? You had to knoe what it could do before you bought it?

Oh ya, I have pulled my 12' boat, motor, fuel, camping stuff, wood, and everthing and it did just fine.

 

hell i tow 4 atvs 3 on a trailer and 1 in the bed with fuel, coolers, etc, and also my buddies 24ft pathfinder to flamingo or boca grand, these trucks are way capable. hell even towed a 27ft camper to georgia from florida city, that really impressed me
