What size are my Rear Drum Breaks?

Hey Guys.. I am sitting at work and I want to stop by the auto parts store on the way home and get the parts to do my rear drum breaks. I called the dealer and they said that it would either be 8in or 9in on the rear but they weren't able to tell me... even with the Vin# so with that said..

2003 Ford ranger XLT 4x4 4.0 sohc non FX4. Anyone guide me in the right direction? Thanks!

So with the details of my truck posted above that would mean that my truck has 8.8's?

you have a 4.0 and its 4x4, so yes it should have an 8.8 rear axle with 10" brakes.

It depends on the model and options and year. For the past several years, the base 4x2 drums have been 9". Adding any one or more of these options got you the 10" upgrade:

-4x4
-Edge
-Supercab
-Payload Package #2

Since yours is a 4x4, it definitely has 10" drums.
