and he did damage the tails, theres a chip in them now 7ft bed, the frame isnt bent at all from what me and my buddies can see, the only thing is the support bars that attach to the frame are bent, but those will be replaced with the bumper, 75 bucks for a chrome bumper at the scrap yard in good condition.

 

If he has good insurance, take it to a body shop. as long as he's paying for it they'll fix it.

 

LOL tony!! paint will only FLEX so far before it starts to crack and chip..that honda took a good lick!! good thing your weren't DL'd!! may have wound up on your side!!

I know about the paint being able to flex slighly, but it seriously looks like chunks of paint just fell off.... it doesn't even look like the paint adhered to the hood. lol

 

Update*** So it looks like my truck is totaled..... no frame damage, the estimates I got were all 3500-3700 and my truck is only worth about 3000-3500 so says kbb....I dont want to give up my truck for that to an insurance company...shes worth way more than that to me..Anyway I can keep it if its turned into a salvage? Still drives great.

 

usually you can, they will give you a check to total it, then you can "buy it back" with a salvage title for like $100 or something .... not sure on your state but in california when you get it back with a salvage you have to have a light inspection, and you get new plates cause your old ones are attached to the clean title.

my neighbor did this about a year ago with his 1987 chevy caprice, it was stolen and he got it back minus the 22s and a big dent in the underbody from the yahoos jumping it in san francisco .... he used the money to fix the ignition and its cruising on the stock rims again.

yeah I know, bumper 75, pull the bed off n pop out the dents, refinish the paint n done.

 

They may not total it, about a year ago when I still had my Cherokee some idiot pulled out in front of me and did $3200 worth of damage to the front end, the Jeeps value according to kbb was only $2500. They didn't total it and wrote me a nice big check that I went and bought my truck with. There wasn't even anything good about the Jeep it was a 2wd with a **** load of electrical problems. Only good about the Jeep was it had brand new tires that came with it when I bought. Anyways now that I'm done rambling what I'm saying is don't think negatively about it being more then the value of the truck.

 

ah yes one of the many reasons i like driving a truck. a lifted one at that. but i am screwed if a truck of the same size hits me. haha

I used to drive a '94 Honda Accord. I still have it as a matter of fact and it has 310,000 miles on it. But Im glad I bought a ranger for dnam sure!!!

 

This is why i'm the ******* who drives with his ball hitch in.
