No offense Dave, but if it's anything newer than 98, you need to see Skip Barber, or re-learn a clutch.....

I passed him on the highway in third gear eventually. The rest of the time I could just keep up with him and maybe slowly gain on him. Cobras, before '03, really aren't that fast. And even the supercharged ones aren't that exciting to me. When I drove one I was expecting more than I got. I think I am just too used to sport bikes.

Yeah, its true that they seem underpowered. And you guys are talking about rated horsepower, not horsepower to the wheels correct? Because I honestly wanna know a dyno number of a stock Cobra to see exactly what numbers it puts to the ground. I had thought about selling my truck for a while and wanted to buy a cobra, after being in a cobra then being in a SS camaro, the Cobra just didnt seem to match :(

I would get the Camaro if you want to go fast cheap. The Cobra just isn't fun to drive in my opinion, the pre '03 ones anyway. I had more fun in my '89 GT. I wouldn't have sold it if it wasn't rusting to oblivion, the '89 that is. The '96 puts about 260 to the ground. You can gain 12 from an x-pipe though. The real problem with the Cobra is gearing. The Camaro has a 3.42 and the Cobra a 3.27. Put a 4.10 in the Cobra and try again, you'll be much happier.

Being a previous Civic owner, ill admit, i hate ricers!!!!! but i kept my ride clean as i could, nothing fancy just full catback exaust, intake, nitrous and a few important gauges... but ive always been a ranger lover at heart. Its what i first learned how to drive :-) spraying a 50 shot, i ran a 15.508 in the quater mile
