Bending A/C lines on Body Lifted truck

I am going to be putting a bl on my truck and have been reading many and many of forums on them. The thing I keep ready is about bending the A/C lines. Why do you need to bend the A/C lines, what is the purpose? What would happen if you didn't ? Pics would be cool to so I can see what they looked like after or how you are suppose to bend them. Any help would be awesome.

The one A/C line that hits is by the Serpentine Belt Tensioner. If it is not moved out of the way then it will hit the tensioner and then you have no A/C becuase there is a hole in it. Some guys have experienced this already haha, just use a little finesse and it should move ok. Just take your time moving it a little at a time.

I was another one that 'missed' that step in the instructions. For me it actually was my helper that had that job, but I guess I should have checked. Either way, it's not a big deal as long as you remember to put the new clamp that comes with the kit on the line to keep it out of the way. If you don't, it is an expensive fix. The line alone cost $150, and then I spent half a day trying to get it installed, then I had to have my system re-charged. About $220 + half a day in labor.

i bent the lines on mine, i think i did bills as well and maybe even evans? i dont really remember but just grab the line with both hands and kinda bend it downand out then use the clamp.

you can verify if you did a good enough job bending it by starting the truck and reving the engine while someone else watches the tensioner to make sure it doesnt hit the line.

evan u better go out and bend yours ASAP! if you dont u will need to have your line replaced.

weird, I've been reading about body lifts and spindle lifts on here for the last year and this is the first I saw of this. good thing I havent lifted yet. I thought the only thing you had to do was extend or move the brake line mounts and extend the gas filler neck.....crazy

Well, this isn't really a 'problem' unless you don't follow the instructions correctly. At least that was my problem...

Thanks for the info I will be sure to check the instructions and make sure I do everything right when it comes to bending the line. I work at a ford dealership so if i mess up hopefully a mechanic can hook me up with a fix.
