Rear Hitch Question

Ok, I know I've asked this before, but I want to ask again before I make the decision to do anything about it. I've got an 01 Flareside 4x4 that my quad refuses to fit in lol. I'd like to put a hitch on the back, but didn't plan ahead when I got the duals coming straight out of the back. So I'm guessing I have a few options.

1) I could get a drop hitch for the bumper since I'll only be pulling 1 quad and the trailer....but I'm not too fond of putting all that load on the bumper. Something about that bothers me. or

2) I can take a drive out to see the fellas who put my exhaust on to see if they have any suggestions. I'd consider running the exhaust out the sides at a 45 degree angle, but im a little concerned what that will look like with the flareside body style. I've seen a flareside with both pipes coming out before the back tire, that looked pretty sweet.

Anyone have any ideas or pictures of a flareside with a hitch and dual exhaust? Any feedback is appreciated. Figures, I have nice truck my quad doesn't fit in lol.

Thanks in advance.

Hey I would go with just a bumper hitch. I do lots of towing with my bumper. I pull 2 4 wheelers and a 16ft wareagle boat and I have never had any problems.

depends on how close your exhaust is together in the rear if you have to get it redone. if they are far enough apart a hitch should fit in between them. if not you'll have to get it redone or do the drop hitch. personally, if i had to get it redone, i'd do it 45 out the corners (but that's just a preferance since that's the way mine is) just my .02. good luck on your decision boss

Why have it completely redone??? Just have them cut it and modify where it exits. Have them cut it off before the hitch install and then to go back and have them finish it up...relocate the tips.

I think that's the problem, I think they're too close together as they are now. I'll have to get some pictures and you guys can tell me what you think. I did take the spare tire out before I had the exhaust done. I think they're too close. rats. I'd really rather put a hitch on it instead of using the bumper....even if it costs me a little more in the long run. I think I might just take it back to where I had it put on and see what they think. Thanks for the help guys.

Thanks for the pictures. That looks decent with the hitch. I figured the pipes would look too far apart but they look fine. Thanks for the help guys.
