Removing front seats?

I assume the 2 front seats in the rangers take a torx bit right? is that a t55 bit? looks the same size as the bed bolts.. I want to take out my seats and clean the carpet for whatever reason my truck stinks inside like azz. think its time to clean my carpet thourougly. Thanks for the help

ya i use that with an impact takes about 1 minute, dont forget to plug the airbag thing back in tho

My front seats come out with a 17mm I think? or was it a 13mm.

mine comes out with a torx bit, oh thats what that cable under there is for? I was looking at that yesterday..

Yeah mine do as well, it must be a 04+ thing.

strange mine was 17 mm the only the only torx bits are for the center seat belts and to remove the backs from the bottom seat pans

yeah :( wish mine had mm bolts. it's an 02 too pretty new. only reason im taking mine out is because somtimes when i get in my truck after having the windows closed for a while it smells weird my carpet is like spotless though no stains or anything so i dont see why it would smell.. and my seats smell fine. I read on another thread about the same problem and they guy said he steam cleaned his carpet and the funky smell went away, so that is my plan gotta borrow my neighbors torx set and breaker bar tho i need my own tools haha

it may be damp under the seats. thats what happened in my old car. it smelled weird until i steam cleaned all the carpet

i just did a major cleaning this weekend so my thread may help

man that interior looks brand new nice job mine looks like that only carpet :( and tan, i honestly hate my tan interior I want grey like my other ranger :( but whateva, its all dry under my seats and spotlessly clean underneath too but it may just smell ill steam clean it. Any idea where i can steam clean it though? ..mabye just some carpet cleaner and a scrub brush and some resolve would do the trick?

just pull it out and use a scrub brush and rinse from the back side out
than hang it up to dry

i was told steam cleaners like to push the dirt and stuff in deeper into the fabric

prob wanna steam clean itll look a whole lot better..I dont know where you could 'use" one.....

yeah thats what i was wondering.. where could i use one lol yeah i dont normally get my truck interior dirty just that smell pisses me off smells like azz. the air freshener seems to help though :)
