Rig intro
I figured I would throw the rig up on here.
2003 Edge 4x4, 4.10 gears 65,000 miles daily driver
got the truck my sophomore year of high school and have had it ever since (now in college).
Parts list for the first round of mods:
took it to 4 wheel parts they put in a torsion key leveling kit. And despite many saying it would trash the front end, the guys set it up really well and have had no front end problems from it at all. got probably 2.5-maybe 3" of lift
Procomp shocks
raer aal and blocks
dual headunit
in dash din cb radio
weston bull bar
procomp 15" wheels
33x10.50 tires
front skid plate
truck was real clean at this time I honestly miss this set up
Then a few months go by and like a lot of teenagers I wanted more lift... go figure
added a 3" bl
couple more months go by and that winter Someone cut me off and ran me off the road and I hit a railroad pole going probably 20ish luckily didn't get hurt, but the truck was a little banged up in the front corner. bumper was gone, headlight exploded, hood bent a little bit (replaced it) and got new fenders.
while it was in the shop I decided i wanted to add Spyder projectors, and do something interesting with the bumper. metal part of the bumper body matched, and lower valance black. truck looked real good was just happy to have it back.
A few more months go by and I added a 22" light bar to the Bumper and. I got bit by the headlight bug again. I decided that the spyder halo projectors did not give me sufficient light out put. Looked into HID's and found out I couldn't get a cheap eBay drop in kit to put right in the spiders. so I went the real route: ordered the kit for spyder and spec d lights from "the retrofit source" included their bulbs, brackets, new projectors etc. This ended up being A PITA I would not recommend doing this, just get some good halogen bulbs in stock housing. about 6 months went by with that headlight rig, and like all stuff like that it started acting up. and I just repeatedly had to fix it. and I was very frustrated.
Drove it like that for a bit and liked it. Then I graduated high school and was getting ready to go to college.:
put 2" spacers on and 33x12.5 bf all terrains on it.
about a month into this school year the headlights were acting up again. I decided to eat the 600 dollars or so that I had invested in them and buy stock housings. once again I do NOT recommend doing the retrofit, and i did it perfectly just aftermarket pieces always act up like you know.
About October I put a very nice winch bumper on the truck (favorite mod)
And thats about it right now that I can think of.
I drive the truck for hours at a time, offered frequently and have had no major issues, if you have any questions; tell me!
Attached are pictures roughly in order of build stages
