Sway bar link question

Sway bar link question
While replacing the control arm and ball joints I noticed that the sway bar link was about to go. I purchased these: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...ontent=general
One side is the bolt and the other is the nut. Does it matter which side is on the top? How do I know when it is tight enough. The Haynes manual does not list it.
Another strange thing is that I ordered the Moog upper control arms for the 99 2wd Ranger with the coil suspension. There were two different part numbers for each side. The thing is the passenger side did not come with a grease fitting it was a sealed unit. Anyone else have the same deal?
Thanks!

I would put the nut at the bottom, in case for some reason it comes undone, the bolt wont fall right out. You can tighten them to give the bushings a small sinch and leave it at that. The moog upper control arm should have had a grease fitting, double check with who you ordered with to make sure it isnt something different or a mistake in the order process.

Normally when the break the head pops off the top, the bolt is rusted into he sleeve so they need to be cut off.
I would suggest anti-seize inside the sleeve for easier removal. Once the first one snaps they the bar will stay put but if both break then it can fall down and scrub a tire when turning.

On the oem end links, the nut is at the bottom, under the lower control arm. When i replaced mine thats how i installed it, but ive seen it done both ways. Like Blhde says, the old ones usually need to be cut off.I just removed the whole sway bar and chopped them off with a hacksaw, but whatever works for you...
