Bronco or Ranger

2004 Ford Ranger with 50,000 or 1994 Bronco with 95,000, a 6inch lift, on brand new 35's, with the 351 V8? I am leaning toward the Bronco
Pictures of my truck are on my profile and the bronco is here

http://broncozone.com/topic/2664-89-bronco-lifted/
This Bronco is not the exact one but very similar

Thoughts??

Broncos are sweet but if your trucks paid off just keep it.

Truck is payed off, but the dealership would make it an equal traded truck for truck. No money spent

I Wouldn't trade an 8 year old truck for an 18 year old truck with 45,000 more miles. That's just me.

I wouldn't trade even up...that's for sure. You want a toy, buy it with cash and keep your daily driver.

Ranger for sure.

You can probably get one of those broncos for like 4k. Your kbb is way higher than that. Plus who knows how long that suspension set up has been on the thing. It's probably pretty worn by now. As is everything else. Man, your not even asking for lube on that deal...

it was heavy as hell, sucked in the woods, TTB steering sucks, 351 mated to crappy E4OD's etc

was a thought... i know that's why i don't want a late model FSB, especially with the 351... wouldn't mind a 2wd '79 FSB(if they made one) with a 300 L6 and four speed... or maybe a m5odr2 swap...

I am looking at the bronco for the towing gains, because I pull dirt bikes often. I would also enjoy having more cab space. Any experience towing with a Bronco?

they have plenty of power but if the E4OD trans that the last gen 351 windsor is mated to is crap. You could however rebuild it with parts from a 4R100 to make it stronger. I bought the bronco off of a friend who had to replace the transmission twice. I got it with the fresh 2nd one but if it went on me i'd use parts from the 4R100. i didn't like the whole vehicle at all though. Its a cool concept specially with the top off but it wasnt for me.

if you're pulling dirtbikes you shouldn't need that big of a motor. I've towed a vw jetta with my truck as well as transporting my cbr600 in the bed so there shouldn't be an issue with a few bikes

Thank you for all the advice and opinions. After looking over blue book prices, and hearing about experiences with Broncos I am definitely keeping the Ranger. I appreciate all the help!

Good choice mainly because you'd be losing out a LOT trading.

As others have stated...the Bronco is probably worth 4-5k.

You should buy the Bronco and keep your Ranger. I have both, and love them equally for different reasons. My Ranger is a better overall DD. I enjoy driving the 5speed, it handles better on the highway, better MPG's obviously, and is a bit funner to drive.

The Bronco is a fullsize, grips of cab space, removable top (with soft top option if you want), sweet sound of the V8, and just gets more looks then the Ranger.

The E40D isn't the strongest tranny built, but it definitely isn't as bad as people are describing it. Mine has 155k on it and is still strong. Regular maintenance and and external tranny cooler and it will hold up just fine.

Hard to say if I had to choose just one. My Bronco needs some work...and isn't exactly a reliable DD anymore. But if both were in equal condition, i'd probably choose my Bronco.
