they stopped making XJs before they started putting rear 44's in everything i do believe... I'll need to look at more jeeps, I've never really noticed if all the new ones had 44 rears or not

The Wrangler X is a glorified SE model, as low as you can go without getting to base.

And those still have D30/D35's in em.

You might want to rephrase that.

Pre 2006 X's had a D35

2007 plus X 2door D35 with the option of a D44, All unlimited's (4door) come with a D44.

As for the D44 being weaker then and of the other D44's out there Jeep upgraded both the front and rear and are much strong then the past D44's the Jeep offered.

Yeah I was referring to the old TJ Wranglers, as I don't know much about the Just Kidding Wrangler. What I implied with my comment about the D44 in the TJ Rubi was that while it's got the internals of a D44, it still isn't a true D44 like the old D44's you found under full size trucks or even the bastardized TTB D44 found under my old Bronco.

Yes they beef it up in those areas. As for the D30 knuckles that does suck but there are quit a few guys running 35's and 37's on them with upgraded shafts with no problems.

You guys are up on your jeep knowledge. lol

I just like riding in my buddies 4dr Rubicon. He likes to lock the axles and put it in 4lo and idle over curbs and parking blocks.
