PIAA's in 08 bumper
okay so here is the deal. i was originaly going to go with a set of OEM frogs but they wanted $90 a peice plus cost of wireing harnes. aprox. $280 im guessing, plus would have to get a swich or splice them into headlights.
i was looking into just getting a piaa kit as it is the same price and comes with everything including a switch (who knows if i would use or not) i know i have seen a thread somewhere on here of a guy doing something similar. would it actually work? if i just made a plate that came off the back of the mounting holes and bent 90degrees towards front of truck and under the bottom part of the hole in the bumper would that be enough? how flimsey do you think it would be?
below are some pics to get a better understanding of what i am talking about.
this is the front with the plastic cap still inserted. (widest point on here is about 6in)
here is the opening in the bumper with the 3 oem mounting holes. widest point is where hole exits bumper (6 in) narrowest point is all the way at the back of the hole (3 3/8 -3 1/2 in)
this is the back on the oem mounting on the bumper
sorry this one is blurry but here is the botom of the housing in the bumper. i figured i would have to dremel a hole in here to attach the light threaded axle to the mounting plate that would run underneith it.
if any of this doesnt make sense let me know and i will do my best to describe it.
any other suggestions are welcome
thanks guys.
