Which will yeild the best mpg increase....
ok so ive got trhee options of what to get...
the thunderbolt exhaust, a proform efan, and then a mac CIA...
they are all roughly the same price aside from the efan which is 125 compared to the 160 of the others....
so which one will help me out the most as far as MPGs goes?

i would be absolutely APALLED if exhaust alone netted you 1-3 mpg.
the key to saving fuel is to make less stress for the engine.
number one being an e-fan
exhaust may help, it certianly wont hurt unless your foot gets heavier
an intake may actually hurt you, because your engine will compensate for the increased air by adding more fuel. keeping the stock filter clean is usually about the best you can do for fuel mileage.
a tune will help if you dont abuse it as well.
i was going to write a little article about fuel mileage and myths and facts about performance mods, i may actually do it this weekend, who knows
mind if i ask why youre going with the proform fan over the one we offer? The proform makes a lot of noise and the blades are exposed. its a decent fan, i have a similar black magic on the torino that ive had for 4 years now, but it was the only decent one on the market then.

^100% true. The first thing I ever did to my truck is put on my FlowMaster dual exhaust w/ 3" tips. In all seroiusness I went from between 13.5-13.75mpg(before exhaust)to15.1-15.5mpg sometimes a little better depending on how hard I drive. So 1-2mpg increase is what I usually get.

I would go for the exhaust, but do it for sound and appearance primarily, not MPG or you will be disappointed. I have noticed about a 1 MPG increase in fuel economy since installing my Dynomax catback system, but 1 MPG isn't much and a lot of things could cause a 1 MPG difference (I can change my fuel economy by about 2 MPG just by changing how I drive).
I didn't have much trouble installing my exhaust. I didn't even jack the truck up. The bolts at the flange were rusted, but PB Blaster took care of them. The hard part was getting the exhaust off the hangers, especially the muffler. That was a pain and I ended up replacing two hangers (luckily the parts store had some in the right size). Overall it was not a hard job though. You will definately want to have a Sawzall though.
