Way back when Kennedy was in the Oval Office, everyone had a pair of cup holders that sat on the drive train hump and held in place with a bean-bag on each side. I'd like to find something like that today, but the innernets is failing me as I can't even find a photo of one let alone one for sale for a reasonable price.
Qualifier: I need JUST a 2-drink holder. I don't need to hold a cell phone, 40 cassette tapes or CDs, sunglasses, pocket change, wallet, flashlight, writing instruments, large fries, a candy bar, a map and grandma's ashes. JUST two drinks.
The only things I can find are reproductions for classic cars that were made for specific makes/models/interior schemes that start around $150. Think, "1953 Cadillac with camel leather seats: $325, add $65 for chrome trim", way too much to spend for a couple of Big Gulps from the Quik-E Mart.
Does anyone have a suggestion on where to find such a critter, or have they been extinct for the past 60 years?
I'm not familiar with what you're looking for as Kennedy has been dead almost as long as I've been alive, but here are some things you might be able to throw bean bags in and make work. I doubt there's anything out there to fit a Big Gulp that will still fit on the floor of a Ranger.
I don't see any bean bags. The bean bags hang off the ends and straddle the hump, not set into them. Sitting those things on the hump will simply cause them to tip over onto the floor when it's not perfectly balanced. And even if it was, as soon as I turn the steering wheel......
