I am going to buy a 1999 Ranger XLT 3.0 "Sport" from a family freind, ive only been able to get the owners manual, i was wondering, what exactly makes the "Sport" model different from the regular models? thanks.

 

basically it came with a monochrome paint job.. and a Sport Sticker on the bed...

 

it doesnt have any other mods to it? I heard that the sport models come w/ disc brakes all around instaed of 2 rear drums and i heard it has better suspsension.

So how can i tell if my 1999 3.0 sport is the FFV or gas?

 

just look on the tailgate and if its a FFV if it hasnt been removed, there should be an emblem that looks kinda like a leaf

my friend is trying to sell a '99 3.0 sport and i have an xlt but really the only differences are the front bumper is painted to match the truck, the doorhandles match the truck, the rear bumper is different, his truck has an in-dash tach, and of course the "sport" decal. Oh yes, he also has factory fog lights. These are the only differences we have noticed in our trucks yet

In 99, the sport was really no different exept for cosmetics. Color matched front bumper and door handles, different rear bumper, fog lights, tach., and sport decal on the bed

 

fogs, tach. where still an option for either..

 

What if i have the Leaf and road emblem on the tailgate, but i have chrome bumpers? Does that just mean i have the FFV engine?

 

yes bumper color does not matter on flex fuel
