So should I get it?

So should I get it?
Well, I want the 4 door 4X4 98 and up Ranger. I am having heck of a hard time, especially with a 3k budget.
How many miles would you say these are good for. Below is the Mazda version, is everything the same except the lights and grill? Can I buy Ranger parts and all that? Are the the same?
and under the Mazda is a 2-door ranger 4X4 but has 170k miles. Let me know what you think..

Craigslist is a great source for used Rangers. Widen your search, be willing to drive 300+ miles if necessary to get the truck you want. Know that every couple of weeks the list turns over, and while there may not be many 4x4 4 door models this week, there may be several in a couple of weeks. Masteralarm is absolutely right, patience will pay off for you.
Note, if you have to drive 300+ miles to see a truck and buy it, besure and ask a lot of specific questions and request email with more pics. There should be NO surprises when you arrive to look at the truck, if you drive that far you are not window shopping you are most likely buying. However if the owner misrepresented the truck then you have to be disciplined and walk away. Plan to do another event while your at whatever location so the day is not a complete loss, in case you have to walk away.

Good luck I searched for 3 months for a good deal on one in decent shape for a reasonable price up to a 200 mile radius. Craiglist and other oddball auto classifeds made up 90% of my browsing history. Ended up getting my 98 3.0 4x4 ex cab off my great uncle for $5300 but it's in mint condish. The 3.0 (IMO) pulls just fine. I pull a pontoon with it and an open 10 foot trailer with my bike on it and without a load it has considerate power if you keep your mind in the realm of what you have.
Do what fits you. If you can handle a somewhat fixer upper then do it. If you don't have the time and mind having a good looking vehicle then go for the one better condition overall. I've gotten to many that have needed to much work for my schedule and end up driving junk around and not being able to keep up with maintenance and improvement jobs.

Well I don't want to have to do major fixing. But changing a pump and getting parts like that I can do. We do most maintenance ourselves. Changing oil, trans. fluid, and brakes.
I really like that 98 Ranger 4X4 seems like I can't find any others...idk if I should pull the trigger..but it has 170k miles

looks like poop anyway.
dude, you look long enough and you will find a bomb deal. and you will be ecstatic. and you will be bragging for the next 10 years ago how great a deal your truck was.
if you drive away in your newly purchased vehicle and you have even a ting of regret or hurt wallet syndrome than you made the wrong choice.
if you really find one and parted with the money for it you must be completely sure. no doubt or regret.
