I got a $25 CB off ebay and a 36" antenna from Radio shack. I don't need anything fancy, it works for me.

Check out this link, it shows what I've got.

I love mine, I got a cheap cobra at walmart for $35, and a magnet mount antenna for the time being. I still have to mount it nicely (its just perched on top of my dash, hooked up to my 12v for now), but its fun for when I go camping with my friends (they all have them) and I now love talking to / listening to the truckers on road trips...

Well, this thread motivated me to get off my @zz and mount my cb. This is in an F150, but you get an idea. Its similar to what Trigger did but I used Velcro to hold it in place so I can take it out if I want to...

Velcro is awesome.

And to answer your question.. YES! Cbs are great. Theres nothing like going down the highway and asking for a bear report (police report). and PAs are a MUST! I love mine.

Heres my recommendation of what to buy:

Midland 1001z 40 channel CB radio - $35

I recommend an extension speaker with it.. they make audio much clearer... - $20

Lil Wilson magnetic mount (should you choose to go this way) - 35

PA speaker: 10-20 bucks..

Seriously its about hundred or so bucks. Well worth it!

Hope that helps.

heres a pic of my setup
